I wanted to get better on the bike after I recovered from a myocarditis incident that left me out of sports for 9 months. I was unable to do much on the bike and was always changing, and at the same time, I didn’t want to hurt my heart. A friend recommended Coach Dan, who understood the assignment, exceeded my expectations, and helped me reach another level that I hadn’t anticipated.

I started off not being able to do more than 1 hour at an average speed of 20-22 km/hr on a flat road in DXBIKE. In around 10-12 sessions with Coach Dan, I was able to reach 35 km/hr for a full hour at an average heart rate of 160. After that, Coach Dan trained me more on power and watts, and I was able to maintain an average speed of 35 km/hr with my heart rate around 150-154, which was achieved in about 4 months of starting my training from zero.

Coach Dan pushed me to my limits.  His attitude and persistence in achieving the objectives set for me are incredible; he is more determined than I am to get to where I want to be. 

He understood my medical condition and guided me on how to always stay safe regarding that aspect.

The way Coach Dan encourages me to join a fast group and then shows me that I have already surpassed their level and can compete with them easily. One group I joined once was doing 32 km/hr, and I thought I couldn’t keep up with them. Coach Dan pushed me to ride with them, and I ended up pulling them along, telling him, “This is too slow for me; I’m only at 120 watts.” That was fun!

I wouldn’t recommend anyone else. Coach Dan is all about making you better; he dedicates his personal time to help you improve and is committed to his work, objectives, and clients. He understands your limits and knows how to push you, and his medical background makes you feel comfortable and safe. He adjusts his schedule to accommodate yours, even at his own convenience. He is the best coach, and I have worked with many coaches before.
